Rome's bustling centro storico (historic district) is where the locals go to shop. Via del Corso is a long street lined with shops that is closed off to vehicles on weekends. Via del Babuino and Via Margutta run along the foot of the Pincian Hill and have been renowned for their art galleries and studios since the 15th century. Lastly, Piazza di Spagna and Via Condotti are without a doubt the places to go for all the top names in Italian and international fashion.
The studio apartment itself is in a centrally located historic building near public transportation (Metro Line A and minibuses nos. 117 and 119) and within walking distance of the St. Peter's Basilica (20 minutes), and the Capitoline and Borghese museums (30 minutes).
The apartment
This adorable, quiet, and spacious fifth-floor, elevator-accessible apartment (26.8 m², not including the balconies) is on a small, quiet street lined with shops. The apartment is very bright and has two small balconies that offer an unrestricted view of the Roman skyline.
The front hall (1.5 m²) features a large closet.
Two glass doors in the main room (17.8 m² - north facing) offer a superb view of the city skyline; one of these doors leads to a small balcony (1.95 m²) that is set up with a round marble-top table and a chair, while the other leads to a second, smaller balcony. The main room is divided into two separate spaces:
- The living area features a table, some chairs, a dresser, an armchair, shelves, a closet, and a TV.
- The bedroom has a double bed and two bedside tables.
The kitchen (2.7 m² - no windows) is small but fully equipped with all the modern conveniences (electric stove-top burners, microwave, fridge, and dishwasher), cupboards, and all the cooking and eating utensils you'll need.
The bathroom (3.55 m² - east facing) is also quite small but has a view of the city skyline and is fitted with a shower stall, sink, bidet, toilet, and washing machine.
