A string of shops along Via Garibaldi adds life to this typical Venetian residential neighbourhood near the Arsenale (in the sestiere of Castello).
Old castellani and young students crowd into the local bars for pre-dinner drinks. While this working-class neighbourhood is often disregarded by the average tourist, lovers of contemporary art and architecture flock to its public gardens and the site that used to be the Arsenale’s workshops and shipyard during the Biennale festivals.
The apartment is a 5-minute walk from a vaporetto (Arsenale), a 25-minute walk from the Piazza San Marco, and 10 minutes from the Lido beach by vaporetto.
The apartment
This small, quiet and very pleasant fifth-floor apartment (23.5 m²) features a terrace with a fabulous view of Bacino di San Marco (St. Mark's Basin) and a part of the lagoon. There is no elevator in the building.
The main room (19 m² - south facing) offers a view of Via Garibaldi, the lagoon, and Saint Mark's basin. It has a sofa-bed, a bench, a table and chairs, cupboards, a television, and a DVD player.
The kitchenette (2.5 m² - west facing) offers a view of the skyline and has all the cooking and eating utensils you’ll need, two electric stove burners, and a refrigerator.
The bathroom (2 m² - west facing) also offers a view of the skyline. It is small but is fitted with a shower, a sink, a bidet, and a toilet.
The terrace (15 m² - south facing) has a table, two lounge chairs, and a parasol, and is accessed via glass doors in the main room. From the balcony, you can enjoy an unobstructed view of Bacino di San Marco (St. Mark's Basin).
